Since you are already using a Perantucci, I would put a plug in for the PT 44. I use this for my solo and other smaller playing if I use a CC Tuba (Hirsbrunner)

The 48 is still a bet big I believe for solo and/or chamber work. Its a great sound for large work however, and I use it a great deal. (In additon to a Parke Offenloch Heavy Wall Mouthpiece) Other Cup style mouthpieces you might like would be the Jacobs-Dallenbach Mouthpiece from Getzen, or the Schilke Helleberg II. (Its a combo cup/funnel shape mouthpiece) Of course the Doug Elliott Mouthpieces would allow you to find just about any combination of cup shap, depth, and sizes, with backbores to boot.

Good luck.
