Interesting post, Jim. I have some home workshop hand tools made in China, and they are beautifully made of high quality materials. Some of my shirts are made in China---great attention to detail, fine workmanship and materials. Lastly, my viola was crafted in China----superb quality at relatively low cost. With the right training, motivation, and supervision China is quite capable of producing fine quality musical instruments, including tubas.
