4th- Bohm/Vienna Phil on Decca Legends (wonderful european style bruckner playing and conducting). Sawallish/Philadelphia O on EMI (The orchestra sounds great in this and the conducting great as well)

7th- Masur/NY Phil or Masur/Leipzig Gewandhaus. The NY Phil has some great brass playing on this. There was an older recording from Haitink and the Concertgebouw from the late 60's that was very good, but I don't think it was ever issued on CD. Barenboim's CSO recording on DG was better than I remembered it and there is some wonderful brass playing from the 70's CSO.

8th- Schuricht/Vienna Phil on EMI or Karajan/Vienna Phil(DG). (again the classic european bruckner sound)

9th- Schuricht/Vienna Phil on EMI & Bruno Walter/Colubmia Symphony (Two classic stereo recordings)
