Independently of all the other issues in these recent posts, I was struck a couple of times by the statement that there's a scarcity of new Alexanders.

Is this really so?

I have a 163 and 155, both new within the last few years, and another fellow who plays in our ensemble has an absolutely brand new pristine gold brass 163 (beautiful, beautiful horn, beautiful sound as well). There may even be one more, but I'm not 100% sure. And come to think of it I've seen a brand new silver plated Kaiser in the last couple of weeks.

Is this a Bay Area phenomenon? Like seeing 6 or 7 BMW's parked in a row in front of the coffee shop?

Hmm, Fog, Cable Cars, Golden Gate Bridge, Fruits, Nuts, and Flakes (particularly in elected office), BMW's Ferrari's, Ghirardelli's Chocolates, Alexander Tubas!

We've arrived!
