I have a question for anyone who has ever played this piece or performed it. Quite frequently this concerto changes time (from 12/8 - 6/8 - 9/8 - 4/4 - 3/4 - 2/4). It says at letter "D" Q= c.140 bpm. Should I take this literally and do 140bpm and space it where each measure has 6 quarter notes or take it a little slower and do it in 4 quarters per measure. Then the dotted quarter would be translated as a quarter note for 4 quarters per measure. I think that since it says circa that I could do this as 4 quarters per measure, instead of 6. Right now I just need opinions and anyone's thoughts on this piece (or whatever else you want to say about it). Thanks for any help.
