Twist-ties work well for affixing things to the valve tubing and such. For around the bell rim I use those black paper clip things with the two hinged metal "levers" attached to the top to open them. I put small pieces of felt between them and the horn to protect the lacquer. I wish I knew what those things were called so I didn't sound so dumb... grr.
