I believe the above quote to be absolutely false.

Your valves (barring design issues like flakey composite rotors) will be reliable as long as they are clean, well-oiled, and well-maintained. (I am including both pistons and rotors in my blanket statement here. One is not inherently more reliable than the other.)

Your saying that a piston is simpler than a rotor might have some merit. If "more removable parts" or "more moving parts" means "simpler", then maybe they are. Both require oil. Rotors require bumpers every once in a blue moon just like pistons require felts and corks.

Both will stick if they are played by players who blow soda and food through their very expensive toys.

I'll resist correcting your spelling and grammar.
