I had one of these horns and have two students at UGA that play this instrument. I switched to a PT6 right about the time that I was deciding to pursue the BSO audition. Now that I'm done with my audition days, I miss having the Rudy...I do like the PT6 very much, but it is not quite as flexible as the Rudy in my opinion.
I will agree with LV that the bottom end needed to be massaged, but a good sound down there could be managed.
