Don't forget! This coming Fri., Nov. 7 is Howard Hovey Tuba Day in Suffolk County on Long Island, sponsored by the Suffolk County Music Educator's Association (SCMEA). We currently have 180 euphonium and tuba students registered to participate. Add 25-30 teachers to that number and we should have a Massed Tuba Ensemble of over 200. The event takes place from 3-9:30PM at the Comsewogue High School in Port Jefferson Station on Bicycle Path. Ray Stewart and the Meridian Arts Ensemble will be our guest artists this year. If you'll be in the area, you can register at the door ($12.00 payable to SCMEA) at 3PM and particpate in the afternoon rehearsals and clinics. Then, there's the concert, free to the public, beginning at 7PM, which will be packed! It will be a great time for all! Feel free to email me for any additional info.
