The original post should be more specific in criteria instead of asking for the "best" euphonium, etc. Terms such as best, good, bad, etc. are subjective and thus are personal opinion. I would suggest people that post questions regarding equipment to be more specific in their criteria, thus avoiding generalized responses.

I personally prefer the Besson 967 and prestige, however there are intonation issues around the sixth harmonic (Eb, E, F above the bass clef staff). This is problematic since most euphonium solos cross this partial. The qualities of an instrument model can differ from instrument to instrument. There are instruments that are lemons out there as well as some that have been touched by a higher power. Try as many instruments as possible.(the previously suggested brands and models seem appropriate).
