I've played 4 or 5 2000's and I thought all of them played better than the best 2155's I have ever played, but on most the gap was very small. If you can find a good used 2155 for $5000 or less, you should jump on it and never feel any regrets. The best 2155's are a tuba you could play the rest of your life, but you are comparing them to possibly the best tuba ever made. There's something special about the 2000's.
By the way, for you 2000 owners, are they still putting the outline of new york on them? Inclding the world trade center?
