The smaller Dynasty convertable tubas are made in Taiwan remarkably similar to Jupiter-Taiwan tooling

and the larger Dynasty convertable tubas are made by Kurath/Willson in Switzerland.

Your best bet might be to try to purchase a "demo" 4/4 4-piston Weril 980S (no case) from a DEG dealer for just a bit more than $2500 and have a clever repairman buy the Yamaha 210M parts (since the Weril 980 is a complete copy of the Yamaha BB-321/201) and rig you up with a 4-valve silver convertable 4/4 convertable marching tuba for not too much more than $3000.

If you hold on to your money for a bit (in other words, WAIT), I believe that Weril is coming out with their OWN convertable/marching version of the 980...so you wouldn't have to after-market/customize it.

Your "silver plated" requirement pretty much disqualifies any other option of quality.
