I have no reason to doubt what you say. When I tried a 191, however, I found that it required very much more air than did a King, to make a good sound. How loud was the resulting sound? I don't know. One thing I do know is that those who have big lungs and know how to use them sometimes don't realize how much they are using compared to what someone else might have available.
I agree that the amount of air needed is not directly related to the bore size.
