I represent the old tuba players never die....they just join community bands crowd. Actually in old days just played euphonium - a school owned Conn Connstellation, one of the worst horns I've ever endured. Upon return to euph 3 years ago I went through a series of horns

Willson 2900 from eBay Sold
Yamaha 642 from eBay Sold
Besson 3 valve comp Besson New Standard overhauled, silverplated, case replaced for kick-around horn
Soon to be sold
Willson 2950 surprise winning bid on eBay from Jenny Thomas, great horn, great person
Sold to fellow member of our community band (he still loves the horn)
Besson Prestige 2051s from Woodwind/Brasswind
Will probably soon sell as I have since switched to primarily tuba and can't justify keeping such a find horn for so little playing

Then I tried tubas and had lots of fun. Got three of them and will probably keep all three
Miraphone S191 from Woodwind/Brasswind, great recommendation from Roger Lewis
Besson 981 from local Sam Ash store that took it in as a trade-in by a kid wanting a bass guitar
Meister Gerhardt Schneider CC tuba from a local high school and rehabbed.

I'll probably leave instructions in my will for selling these horns; they won't be leaving me while I'm alive.
