I do believe this is basically good, to prevent a wrinkled chin/protruding lower lip and restrictions in the mouthpiece. Students who are exaggerated in this set-up suffer from very poor tone.

I also believe that the embouchure need not be 'set in stone' this way. Excess tension (over-correction) can yield an equally undesirable result.
