I am a high school senior and I bought a Miraphone 188 CC tuba from Woodwind and Brasswind. I love it. It set me back a little under $6,000 but because it is a school expense I get to right it off on my taxes. Miraphone is also coming out with a new CC tuba that is supposed to be a true monster. If you don't live to far way I would suggest going to the Woodwind Brasswind store in South Bend, Indiana. They have an entire room filled with some of the best tubas you could ask for. And the Tuba Manager, Roger Lewis, will not only help you find the horn the is best for you, but he will also help you with your all around playing. I have been their 3 times and he basicly gave me a lesson each time. But I would definitly say the Miraphone 188 or the new one that will be out in Feb I think.
