The book I was referring to which demonstrates his historical and archival research prowess stems from his Ed. D. doctoral dissertation for the U. of Illinois which was later published under the title "Standing Without Apology: The History of Bob Jones University." This 310 page book also contains an appendices and notes section of some 135 pages, drawing on 47 years' worth of speech-transcribed documents, hundreds of sermons, eight years' worth of interviewing 45 different times, primary, secondary, and tertiary source documents numbering (by my late night count) 230.
