I humbly agree. On my concer tuba, the 1-2 combo works fine, but on my King Sousaphone, I ALWAYS use the 3rd valve for D below the staff, G below the staff, and the G on the 4th space of the staff. For all of the others I use 1-2 and it works fine.
How odd.
