You are right, it is very difficult to get to unless you have very long, skinny and strong fingers.

With the horn on your lap, pistons up, slide your fingers from both hands and try to spin the back of the rotor off. I had to experiment several times to find the right angle, opening and which fingers to use. I would not recommend any tools because you won't be able to get to the rotor without causing some damage to the horn. Once you get it off, I strongly recommend that you finger tighten the piece back on, this will make is much easier for you to take it off the next time.

I haven't figured out a better way. Maybe Getzen makes a tool specifically for taking off the back of the rotor. Good luck...
