Sounds great! So where is your resouce for the 983's? The more I hear about these horns, the more I think they'd be a good match for what I want to do: quintets; jazz; and not get a sore back and shoulder. My only reason for avoiding the MW 2141 is that I don't want to get into a fingering nightmare in the basement. That's the advantage of the compensating system - even if a lot of guys turn their nose up at it. With the 983, I imagine it might even be possible to reach around with the left hand, to hold the 4th valve down for those rare instances when one's gotta move around fast in the low end (Mahler#5 - third movement).
