Your English is good enough to understand, it's sure better than my Italian! I really think you should discuss this with Frieder. I don't know how far south in Italy you are, but if you were in the northern part, it's really not too far to Frankfurt. Perhaps the shop that does the German machine work near Frieder's home could repair or replace the valves. My brief experience with Frieder leads me to believe he would help in any reasonable way to get the St Petersburg right. It would be worth an e-mail anyway.
