I used to use a blue note tuba strap for my Mirafone in school. The braces were secure enough to carry the weight of the horn. The strap helped out alot since I could'nt reach the lead pipe comfortably. I now have a Kalison D S and I don't want to risk the braces on the horn (since I paid for it!). I now use a DEG tuba stand it is more versitile(sp?). You might want to check into some the other stands also. I did'nt care for the stewart stand it was'nt comfortable. GOOD LUCK.
