Go to your local auto parts store and buy a small tube of Permatex Anti-seize compound. Apply a small amount to coat the threads on your valve casings. You'll never have a stuck cap again. Same treatment works for mouthpiece screw rims and shanks.

A 2 oz. tube will probably last the rest of your life. I've had my 8 oz. bottle for 25 years and haven't made a dent in it. Believe the stuff is nothing more than superfine aluminum powder suspended in a heavy oil.
