I've got the Fischer trombone book and it's just a shadow of the complete TC Arban for trumpet (348 pages, not counting the historical stuff at the end). The tuba version has 395 pages; the complete CF trombone method stops at page 261 and lacks all of the neat songs and duets that should be a regular part of your warm-up.

The obvious answer is to learn to read TC and get the TC book just about anywhere for $25. You'll be doing yourself a big favor. Think of all of the trumpet stuff you'll be able to read, not to mention brass band scores!

There's another good reason to have the TC version that I've not seen mentioned here. If you play the TC version, you can use the same fingerings for ANY tuba, regardless of the key of the tuba. The material winds up in the proper tessitura for whatver key your instrument is in (BBb, CC, Eb, F).

MOHO, anyway, for what it's worth.
