Can't say that I've heard of this particular ailment, but I'd be interested in seeing some responses to your question.

I think I am afflicted with this malady to a lesser extent. My left, (sousaphone), shoulder is lower than my right one, though it is not readily visible. Okay, so I'm not bilaterally symmetrical. However, my left shoulder joint seems to be far more limber than its opposite, almost like it was partially dislocated and never went back. I have never had any traumatic injury, let alone a dislocated shoulder.

When I first noticed this disparity between my shoulder joints, I asked about it on the tubaeuph mailing list (this was 3-4 years ago).A couple of men indicated that they have suffered similar problems: the left shoulder measurably (and visibly) lower than the right, things like that. Since I no longer have to handle a sousaphone, I have not given it much thought of late.

I sympathize with your daughter, and wish her the best of luck in finding treatment.
Brian
