My undergrad instructor (old school military type) always said two things about multiple tonguing:
1. Everybody sounds bad the first time; if you sound good the first time, you are not doing it right.
2. The first several times practicing for 15-20 minutes will make your tongue feel like an old piece of leather; numb, fat, and fuzzy.
