I guess I remember getting moved a little when I'd turn into the wind, but it's been 22 years since I marched with a sousaphone. I do remember the day we had to rehearse at the stadium (about a mile away -- remember Forester Field, Beau?) and a fellow tubist drove. It was raining, and when we got back to the school I carried Tracy's horn and mine into the building while he parked. I hit a slick spot in the hall and FELL on one of the tubas, the other spilling hard on top as well. The one on bottom had major damage to the bell, the outer branch near the cluster, all three valve bows, and one of the piston casings. I guess that was 'caused by the weather', but I think it was the fog in my brain more than the rain on the floor.
