Some of you may have seen a message I posted back in the Spring about a vacancy for professor of euphonium at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, MD. After David Fedderly(principal tuba of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra) resigned from Peabody, a world wide search began to find a replacement. Well, Steve Kellner, principal euphonium in the "President's Own" Marine Band, was hired this Summer and has been teaching weekly.
My reason for posting this is so that word about Kellner's appointment to Peabody will spread a little faster throughout the Tuba/ Euphonium community. I assume that some of you already knew, but hey, now you all know. This is a very exciting time since Peabody is now the only "CONSERVATORY" (Ooooooooo) with a current member of a D.C. "Premiere" band on faculty.
If you have questions, call Peabody. If you'd like to know what I think of him as a teacher and performer, feel free to email me. Thanks.
