At my high school we had an F.E. Olds sousaphone we called the "Korean War Horn". The thing looked like it had traveled with the first infantry back then. Five or six air leaks, braces falling apart, tears through in the bell, two valve buttons (of different make). Someone found it at a pawn shop for 25 bucks and donated it to the school. We used some duct tape to make it playable and gave it to a middle schooler on eighth grade night. The last time I saw it, it was lying next to a dumpster. I suggested the "Korean War Horn Memeorial" but it didn't fly. :)
