I have had my 680 for about 6 months (and I DID buy mine from Joe) and I have been quite happy with it. I mostly use it for quintet work but I have also been playing it in a 25 piece community band and I have had no problem making my presence known. Like Bill I did have to muck around with a few mouthpieces until I found one that worked for me with the best combination of sound/intonation. FWIW I ended up with a Conn Helleburg 7B. Overall I think the Weril is an outstanding horn for the price.
While I normally don't like to give out plugs I would also comment that I found Joe a delight to deal with even though I am a long way away from Memphis.
