I own a big Kurath CC. I bought it at midwest in 1992. I also cannot say enough good things about it. Mine is one of the Perantucci's. I don't know how many were made but they have been replaced by the Willson 5/4 here in the US. I didn't like the Willson as much when I played it a few years back. Marty Erickson was pushing them and suggested I would like it better. I found it to be a smaller, lighter horn. Perhaps more agile. But it lacked the enormous dark sound I get from mine. They (Custom) call it a 5/4. It's as big as any 6/4 out there. I do think, as with any horn, play before you buy. But, if you find a good one, buy it. I would only consider trading mine for a 6/4 Nirschel or Yorkbrunner. Norm Pearson played one for a while in LA and actually found it projected too much. He posted on this. Check the archives. If your looking for something to knock down walls with, Kurath is a great horn. Good Luck!!

Chris
