When I knew Gene Dowling, 30 years ago, we were both in Victoria, BC, where he was tubist
with the Victoria Symphony and I was teaching in the local schools. We were at a Dixie
jam one evening, at Gordy's house with only one tuba so one of us played breadboard
while the other played tuba. If he is still there, he will be teaching at the
University of Victoria. Victoria, BC, is on Vancouver Island. This information is now 30 years old so you might have a better source or at least a more current source.
