In Ohio, 10 years as a player, 6 in high school (went to a small school where high school band members started in 7th grade) and 4 in college. In both cases they were a appr a week long at a real off-site camp. Also spent 4 years as an instructor at a high school camp.
My sons had 2 weeks of camp in high school, but they were day camps at the high school.
