Indeed Hirsbrunner no longer makes their own valve sets or bells, but they do still make their own bows. They use the cheaper hydraulic press and water method now rather than hand-hammering them. I did personally witness them hand-hammering a bottom bow for a hand-made Yorkbrunner when I visited the factory (this adds about $5K to the cost last I heard.) As to how to tell them apart, I don't know. Perhaps you could email your serial number to Peter and he could tell you how and when your horn was built.
