Ulm?

Anyone familiar with brass instrument makers from Ulm around the latter half of the 19th century? I have recently acquired a horn which is engraved "Chr. Brifser Ulm" I know "fs" is actually "ss" and I guess "Chr." could be Charles or Christopher, but I have never heard the name Brisser. It could also be Beisser, it's hard to tell.
The instrument itself is soft brass with lots of nickel trim, a wide copper bell ring, and enclosed spring rotors. If you've got Stauffer's book look at the top pic on page 18, and that's exactly what the valve section looks like.
So... any ideas on who made it, and when? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I can post a pic tomorrow if anyone is interested.
