Normally I don't respond to comments such as this, but here is my source: T.U.B.A. Journal Volume 15, #3, February 1988, page 8. Quoted by Denis Wick: "Having been impressed with the sound quality of the CC tuba, in the hands of Arnold Jacobs with the Chicago Symphony and Bob Tucci in the Vienna Opera, I persuaded John to take it up". The operative word here is "persuaded". It is evident from the article that Mr. Fletcher, at least initially, was not eager to make the transition.

Regarding my comments about Mr. Fletcher being "arguably the most prolific" Eb artist, that is just my personal opinion. If someone challenges my opinion, that is not my problem.
