Erik, I have had a hard time finding a 4 valve one I liked, but I have played two BBb 3 valve compensating models that have been absolute gems. No 4 valve version has touched them. Unfortunately, I think they stopped making them in the early 60's. The compensating "swindle" as Stauffer terms it, was done with extra tubing off the third valve. If you find one, get it. They may be limited by the downward extension of their range, but they more than make up for it in their openess and GREAT pitch.
