Here are a couple citations:

Bevan, Clifford, "The Tuba Family", London, 1978, Faber and Faber (First Edition)
"In the Bydlo movement of Moussorgsky's "Pictures from an Exhibition" orchestrated by Ravel there is a solo written for tuba (originally the Small French Tuba in C) which may be played by the tubist on his normal instrument or a euphonium; by one of the trombonists on the euphonium (the trombones are tacet in this movement) or by a specialist player brought in to play only 'Bydlo'." p.95

Wick, Dennis, "Trombone Technique", Oxford, 1971, Oxford University Press (Second Edition, reprinted with corrections, 1992)
In the chapter named "Various Instruments" there is a section labelled "Euphonium." On pages 98-99 there is a listing of orchestral works that require a euphonium. This list contains the line:
"Ravel/Moussorgsky- 'Pictures at an Exhibition' (solo in 'Bydlo')"
