Last night after rehearsal I got to play on a PT-6. Wow - What a horn! I blow on a 186 and I like my horn but now I have experienced the other side. The first thing I noticed was that the PT6 is much bigger and heavier than the 186. The next thing I noticed is that I can generate a huge sound out of that horn and it is much easier to blow than the 186. I can get a big sound out of my horn but I can also overblow it pretty easy if I'm not careful. I had to work to overblow the PT6. The valves were smooth as butter but I did not really like the thumb valve. I could very easily get use to it though.
Some day I will have a horn like that.
