An Eb tuba (especially if a modest-sized one) would be a reasonable instrument to cover a euph part, especially if the only other option is that it isn't going to be played. The Besson 983's upper register is a bit lighter in character, and might work for this. A smaller, shallower mpc would also help with upper register range and tone, respectively.
Better yet would be a Besson 777 or 2-20 (student version) 3/4 Eb, which would be hard to distinguish from a big euph if you had your eyes closed.
