Argh! This piece has a tuba part with a total of 14 notes. No kidding. 7 notes at the beginning and 7 notes at the end of the 2nd movement. To add insult to injury, all these notes are doubled in the bass trombone part. Not in octaves but in unison. That means sitting on stage for movements 1, 3, & 4 looking useless. (Can you tell that the FPO is playing this piece right now?) If you really want to play in Carnegie Hall, then go for it but don't expect to get any warm fuzzies hearing your sound coming back to you. Me personally, I'd stay home and study for finals.

My opinion for what it's worth...
