Perhaps I misunderstand the question, but when I have to play treble clef music on my tuba, I simply (not always that simple actually) ignore the G clef and thing of it as F clef. Then add three flats to the key signature. Not too bad until you run into a bunch of accidentals! Then it's every man for himself.
