sounds to me like thereīs just a bit too much metal there making those slides just that bit too tight. maybe try Vaseline (yes, the baby-but-stuff) which is "slippier" than most tuning-slide greases. If that doesnīt help, maybe this will: take the grease back off, oil the slides with a very thin valve oil and start pulling them in and out whilst turning them at the same time (of course you only put one side of a slide in at a time or you canīt turn it!!) keep kleaning it every few minutes and re-oiling. This way you will rub off some of the metal without damaging the horn. continue until loose enough, put your grease back on and see if this worked.
