Any weightlifting involving the torso and chest will be benificial to some degree to your playing. Also, increasing your metabolic rate and lowering your resting heart rate will allow you to play longer phrases, because your body needs less oxygen and you can put that air toward playing. In general, good fitness does wonders for your playing. Just like Joe Alessi tells his students to start running every morning before an audition to get themselves into a better physical state of being. Don't do sit-ups though as they can do harm to your lower back. Get a book about aerobic training and one about strength training and use those to structure a fitness routine.

Good Luck,
