The T.U.B.A. (ITEA, whatever) offers the two volumes of Art Lehman's "The ART of Euphonium Playing". Mr. Lehman's ideas about playing are very much oriented toward the"tight gut" school Brian refers to. He even mentions at one point having students hit him in the stomach to see how hard it is. I guess it worked for him, though. If you get the accompanying recording you will see that Mr. Lehman had chops and fingers enough for any two mere mortals.
