...What about your existing (hopefully short-topped) tuba mutes fitted with a very large inverted plastic salad/popcorn bowl (16 - 19 inches diameter)?
If feasable, would there be an easy way to fasten without permanently ruining the straight mute (aerosol foam - "Great Stuff"*, etc.)?
