Ok, why F? Why not Eb? There's a bunch of good Eb's out there too. The Cerveny CEB-641, but its a 4-valver, the Besson 983, PT22P, the later version of the Meinl-Weston 2141 is said to be good, as is the Willson, and what about the Nirschl Eb?. I have't played the MW, Willson or Nirschl, but I've personally liked the Cerveny Eb and PT22P better than any of the F's I've tried. Just don't dismiss these horns because they're not F tubas. Who knows, maybe that particular something will be found down that street. Seems to work for some people.
