I have played the pt-3 and the pt-3p and I own a YCB 621. The pt are some bigger and have a bigger sound. The yam will run out of gas real quick if you need volume. The pt's have a easier upper range and lower range, they have 5 valves and less intonation problems. The yam doesn't have bad intonation problems it is a good horn the pt's are just better and they are more money too. I am only talking about the new pt horns that are 2 or 3 years old because I have played some of the older pts that do have intonation problems and these problems are better on the new horns. Not all old pt's have intonation problems just some (always play before you pay).
