I spent som e money and got a fostex hard disk recording deck and a set of mikes and stands. I am able to record directly into the recorder, or through a mixer. Mine is a stereo system that can record into 8 track by moving recorded tracks around.
I have a little over 32 hours of dard disk space in stereo mode, and I have the capability to add effects and equalizer without affecting the original recording.
I have about $700.00 tied up in the recorder and mikes/cables/stands.
This system also allows me to record midi and have computer access/control to the recorder.This maybe too much for what you want to do now, but you might appreciate the capibilities of this system later.
