Torchinsky's 20th Century Book contained some pieces, not because they were repertoire you urgently needed to know, but because Mr. Torchinsky had played them on programs, and had been impressed by their challenges or problems, and apparently believed they might catch on. You can probably dismiss the Von Einem. Just not likely to come up. The Creston used to get played a lot, but has disappeared. It could come back. If you can't find a recording, Torchinsky's excerpt is well marked for tempo and style. And the solo is a shameless steal on Petrouchka.

The most readily available works on recording are the Schoenberg, Shostakovich, and Stravinsky. Whatever's available will be easy to search for at the Tower website.
